The most beautiful Tuscan routes from Pisa to Florence in 10 days

Once the bikes are delivered in the morning, you are advised to explore Pisa and its emblematic places such as the Piazza di Cavalleri, the Piazza del Duomo with its leaning tower or the Corso Italia, a walking and pedestrian route. It can take you the day if you decide to explore these places in depth.
If you wish, a loop will allow you to reach the Charterhouse of Pisa, in Calci, dating from 1336. It is one of the most beautiful monasteries existing posed on a hill covered with olive trees.

The choice is yours! The flattest route that takes you along the Sechio river or the Monte Serra which in addition to a nice challenge, will allow you to discover the Calci monastery. The roads are beautiful and the landscapes are different. The village squares are real invitations to have a coffee break or taste a homemade ice cream. Do not arrive too late to make the most of Lucca, one of the most beautiful small towns in all of Tuscany, nested in its fortified wall. A bike ride on the walls is highly recommended, as well as exploring the square of Anfiteatro or the many beautiful alleys of Lucca.

This day can be spent in the fortified enclosure of Lucca which is a real pleasure. Beyond the walls on which you can cycle, Lucca is a real delight for lovers of quality shopping. There are also many bars and stalls and you can enjoy a cappuccino or a local wine in the Piazza del Anfiteatro which saw the departure of the legions of Caesar to Gaul a few centuries ago. Tastings of wines, olive oils and even truffles are easy to organize.
For those who are not afraid of beautiful mountain bikes or are equipped with electric bikes, a loop in the hills is offered. The route is as magnificent as it turns steep; Tuscany is earned!

You are leaving today towards the eastern side, on the quietest roads. You will soon be leaving the residential era for a countryside full of greenery where olive groves and vineyards follow one another. The Tuscan residences are superb and all make you want to take a picture break. The opportunities to taste wines and olive oils abound on this route. The final objective of this stage is the pretty town of Montecatini Terme, known for its thermal baths. The funicular will also allow you to admire the city from above before testing one of the many typical restaurants.

Another wonderful day in Tuscany where you will have the oportunity to choose between a relaxing day which can include the terms with its historic café in a superb park, the funicular to Montecatini Alto, the bars and ice cream parlors of the city center ... Montecatini Terme is a happiness of calm and serenity where you can simply enjoy and feel good.
For sports enthusiasts, you can take on the mountain that overlooks the city. The route follows a very calm road in its rise in the middle of Tuscan nature and ends at its summit with a few bars and restaurants which will be the oportunity for a well-deserved break. The road then undulates before descending on a much faster road towards Montecatini Terme.

Here we are: today, after a hearty breakfast, you are on your way to the birth village of the famous Leonardo da Vinci. A nice surprise awaits you on the course, however. Before hitting the countryside by bike, we recommend a stop at Giusti Cave. The place is magic and if the external thermal baths are accessible all year round without reservation, the cave with therapeutic benefits must be booked in advance, as well as massages. It’s an excellent lunch break anyway where you can also enjoy these warm waters that can only make you feel good.
The road then continues among superb landscapes as seen on postcards. For those who wish, an optional climb is proposed to reach a pretty castle at the top of its hill.

Option with castle extension: approximately 36km. + 463m, -422m.

Night in agritourism in a vineyard in Vinci.

It is by criss-crossing the country's roads that you will understand where Leonardo da Vinci's inspiration came from ... You can enjoy your accommodation, far from the city or join Vinci a short distance away and visit its alleys and museums.
A bicycle loop is offered on one of the emblematic routes where you will probably see professional teams of cyclists training. The climb is regular and magnificent with its views of Vinci and its olive groves. The vineyards produce the famous Chianti of the region and will accompany you to the summit where a bar will make you look out for a little break. The descent brings you back to the valley where a detour will make you avoid the main axes to reach your agritourism.
Tonight you leave your bike which will be picked up and brought back to Pisa.

You can enjoy your accommodation or visit the village and the museum of Leonardo da Vinci. A nice bike loop is also possible. The historic center of Vinci is very pretty and has kept its authenticity. You will then take the train to Florence to arrive directly in the center. Getting into town by bike is difficult and potentially dangerous, hence our choice to leave the bikes at Vinci.
Then you are free to enjoy the beauties of splendid Florence.
